    -Shredded Wheat, the plain kind

For quite a while, I diligently tried to buy only products with no high fructose corn syrup, but gave up when it seemed like EVERYTHING had it. However, I was much encouraged today when I noticed that the safety seal around the cap on a bottle of Bull’s-Eye Original Barbeque Sauce contained big letters stating: NEW RECIPE! NO HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. I could not believe KRAFT FOODS is actually advertising that they DON’T use HFCS in a product. Hopefully, they will apply this to all their other products.

Looking through my cabinet, I found that O’Charley’s Honey Mustard Dressing and Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing also do not list HFCS. Thank you for this service. It is much needed and very much appreciated.

I am happy that I found your website. I was actually looking up maple syrup. I didn’t even think of Trader Joe’s before now. Also, I used to drink Snapple all the time, it was one of my favorite drinks until I saw that used High Fructose Corn Syrup. I stopped drinking it around June 08 and switched to Lipton Iced Teas in the bottles. Also, I am disappointed to find out the other day that Wheat Thins have High Fructose Corn Syrup.

  17. Brenda on January 5th, 2009

Wheat Thins did not used to have HFCS in them. Also, Saltines now have it. I am very allergic and am now having to re-read everything I used to buy that was safe. Be careful, it\’s showing up in places you don\’t expect it.

  23. Cherese on March 17th, 2009

Thank you for your activism regarding HFCS! I have been writing to the FDA and several companies regarding the overuse of this ingredient! I have been given condescending and patronizing responses (big surprise there). I have been told that it’s safe in moderation just like everything else. My question is: how can we use it in moderation if it is in everything we eat?
As a former athlete and ballet dancer I know about the importance of fitness and nutrition. I am now an educator and sociologist. I have shared my activism with my sister who is an RN and we are both actively trying to spread the word about HFCS because our grandmother died at 52 of Type 2 Diabetes related complications. There are several scientific and medically based studies PROVING that HFCS is linked to health problems. Here is one sample.
    Keep up the GREAT WORK!

Yaaay! Franz came out with a hot dog bun that does not have HFCS in it. I work for Zenners and we make awesome sausage and I have never been able to enjoy one on a bun until last weekend when I found a whole grain white bun from Franz. And the buns are very good. Check them out. They come in a blue and clear package. I am allergic to HFCS and it makes me very sick is why I can’t have it.

Texas, HEB store brand ketchup has a NO HFCS version. Uses sugar. Also, it does not contain any food coloring or preservatives.

  36. Charlotte on February 19th, 2010

Great website! This list is going with me to the grocery store. I have cut HFCS out of 50% of the prepared foods I buy (which are mostly condiments). CAUTION: Quaker Chewy Granola 25% less sugar bars now have “no added high fructose corn syrup added.” I was so excited. However, they use chips (chocolate, peanut butter) that have HFCS. And, if you read the ingredient list, you will see “corn syrup” but not HFCS! Tricky! They are going on my “no more” list.

Oroweat Double Fiber Bread—No HFCS printed right on label

sometimes no HFCS means they sometimes increase the amounts of salt so be careful

  40. Sharon on March 27th, 2010

See’s Candy, widely available on the West Coast and by mailorder on the Internet, does not use high fructose corn syrup. According to their statements, regular corn syrup is used in some of their products for flavoring, but HFCS is not used. Hurray! This is one of the best tasting candies on the market, I guess because it uses real sugar.
