Always Check The Label Yourself! I always check before submitting something to the list, but sometimes companies change things, so be sure to always verify on the label itself. This list is meant to be a guide and not a bible. I hope it’s very helpful in finding products with no high-fructose corn syrup, but if you’re sensitive or have allergies especially, always always double-check the label yourself!
This is a list I have compiled (and am actively adding to) of products which do not contain HFCS. These are all products that now seems to contain HFCS more often than not – so I am posting when I come across a brand/variety that does not contain it (last I checked, anyway).
If you have some finds you’d like to share on this list, send me the info, and I will add it here.

Thanks for this list! If you live in the Eastern U.S., there is a grocery store called Earth Fare that does not carry any products with HFCS on its shelves. (They also won’t carry products with any hydrogenated oils, artificial colors/flavors/sweeteners/preservatives, or a bunch of other unhealthy stuff.) It’s a much easier way to make better food choices if there happens to be a store near you.
Nice to see people having HFCS issues in food products. For earlier years I use to contact food companies asking to somehow replace HFCS with somthing else not derived from CORN. Many times the phone calls and letters were responded in the early days that since I was unique in this unknown CORN allergy that it was my health problem and not the worlds. Until I started looking online and found sites such as this one, I can’t tell how much it is a Blessing and useful site and to know that I am not the only one in the world with a unique CORN allergy. Yes it’s hard daily and by not following a strict diet I only feel bad and resently undergone my second sinus surgery because of the problems that come with unknown listed corn or eating something everyone else is eating, knowing it will cause some problems, but also not wanting to be the weird one. Now days since more and more people are trying to eat healthier, it’s not like I’m the only one anymore dyesecting food, ha. Anyhow, I thank this site and everyone who contributes to it.
Wickles brand products proudly declare that they are kosher, gluten-free and HFCS-free. They make pickles, relish, hoagie spread and other pickled products.
Marie Callender’s pies have HFCS in them. It’s hard to find the ingredients on their menu item in the Web site, but looking deep enough will bring up the ingredients of the menu items. HFCS as an ingredient in so many things is scary, and when they hide the information it makes it that much worse.
I call the companies everytime I find HFCS. Like Maple Grove Farms has an “All Natural” syrup that has HFCS, and I called them and blasted them, and they said I had gotten an old bottle, that they don’t use HFCS any more. Our calls and emails DO make a difference. Keep it up! I think that is why more catsup is HFCS free…they were losing business.
I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes about 6 years ago. It was at that time that my husband and I had been discussing how virtually every food had HFCS in it now and how so many people were being diagnosed as I was. I don’t think it is a coincidence.
I have been studying labels in order to avoid HFCS and it amazes me how hard it is to find common items like bread without this garbage added to it. I bought Hood frozen yogurt the other day without checking the ingredients but sure enough, something as “healthy” as low-fat frozen yogurt has HFCS too!
I thought that I must create a list and share it….and then I found your site!
Thanks!
Imagine my surprise when I read Yoplait’s Light yogurt and found HFCS listed as the second ingredient. I have known the dangers of HFCS and am ashamed I have not read this label before, especially since I have been eating one or two containers/day with fruit and thinking it was healthy & helping me lose weight!
Thank you for this list.
Nature’s Pride Organic Ancient Grains Granola has no HFCS, is pretty high in carbs, but mostly from the grains it contains, And it is yummy-licious!
It is safter to assume products DO contain hfcs, corn syrup/starch/solids, or fructose. Dannon does not sell All Natural Vanilla Yogurt in the U.S. and will not explain why (it is delicious!). Mad at Cargill, Monsanto, DuPont, Archer-Daniels-Midland, CHS (Cenex)! Let’s speak with our dollars!
Yes, Dannon is such a socially conscious company. It does not make sense for them not to sell the All Natural Vanilla Yogurt here. Even some major grocery store chains that have international locations sell better food elsewhere. One even shows the difference on their website, i.e. store layout in Europe versus store layout in the U.S.
I have found Hunts ketchup and Country Pride bread to be HSCS free.
Ok maybe it’s just me…. but I’m so mad at Kellogg’s! Last week I was looking at the ingredients to my beloved Special K with Red Berries. There it was staring me in the face HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. For some stupid reason, I never checked before. ALL varieties of the Special K cereals are loaded with HFCS!! I go to great pains to avoid HFCS and eat a vegetarian diet. It’s my fault, I should have checked before… but I’M CHECKING NOW!!!
It took me an hour in the cereal aisle to find a low fat, non-HFCS cereal. The Malt-O-Meal (inexpensive bagged cereals) had a few options. Also SOME of the Shredded Wheat varieties were poison free.
Good luck everyone! I’m not buying anything else without scouring the labels. Also just picked up a tip on this site, make sure to check the yogurt labels!
I’d like to let you know that The Peanutbutter Co pb’s are all healthy and hfcs free—i believe Nutella is too. And beware because i read that even all natural honey can have HFCS in it due to the beekeepers mixing it in with their food or using it straight to feed the hives cause its cheaper–article was tying this to the mystery of why american honeybees are disappearing. YOu must be diliget. I also just found out that the estrogenic lab produced additives in our grooming products can be absorbed thru the skin and disrupt your hormones a bad deal if you already have an imbalance.
Thanks for posting this; I hope you are still able to keep it up! I wanted to recommend Matt’s Cookies for your list. Reading the label is like reading the ingredient list from my favorite recipes! Nothing from a chemistry class… and they have been this way for as long as I can remember. Also they are delicious…. take care!
Austin cheese crackers with peanut butter don’t contain HFCS, but other varieties do.
I just tried the Pepsi Throwback and Mt. Dew Throwback. I liked them. They don’t have the hfcs ingredient listed.
Snikkidy chips, 3 flavors(mac n cheese puffs, cheddar and original) contain no HFCS, Original sunchips. A few varieties of the v8 fusion if not all have none either. Honest Tea drinks, Honest kids juice as well as Horizon chocolate milk.
If i am not mistaken the milano chocolate raspberry didnt have it either, but i would check label in case.
Post Raisin Bran uses sugar, not HFCS
.
Also, Cascadian Farm Raisin Bran contains no HFCS. Not sure about any of the other Cascadian Farm products.
Also, none of the Mi-del cookies (if you can find them) have HFCS.
Nesquick chocolate syrup doesn’t have HFCS in it and my husband (an avid chocolate lover) says it’s delicious.
Capris Sun doesn’t have any either, but it may depend on the flavor.
Thank you so much for this site. My family of 6 recently decided to eliminate HFCS and CS from our diet (including my children, ages 3-10, voluntarily) after seeing the results of my mom following this plan – almost 20 lbs in less than 2 months. In just one week my husband lost 4lbs and I lost almost 3. It’s amazing how full we’ve felt, too. Our only trouble-spot is after the kids go to bed – we used to have an hour or so to watch the news/a short movie and eat a snack and now we find ourselves tired of the fruits/veggies we eat all day and without a fun snack. Other than that we’ve found this diet to be VERY doable.
Thanks again for all the work everyone is doing. We appreciate the word getting out that more and more people wish to have NATURAL sweeteners in our foods. Every little bit makes a difference.
i have found Red Diamond sweet tea (and its walmart generic version) use real sugar and have no hfcs
You can add BBQ Popchips too!
Great site and info………been trying to locate a HFCS free Chocolate Syrup….been using Hersheys but its loaded with all the baddies….Any ideas please pass them along……………
I have just been diagnosed as having Fructose malabsorption. I have been on a non Fructose diet. In a month I have lost about 8 kgs but I also go to the gym and do cardio workouts at least 3 times a week. I have been told that wheat, oats, rice etc. have hidden fructose. I make my own bread which is easy and is made up of potato, urid, arrowroot, buckweat and few other flours but not wheat. I also at this stage don’t eat fruit, drink soft drink or white wine. I drink water, soda water, 100% Arabica coffee with goats milk, or spirits with ice and soda water. The one treat I have occasionally is Lindt 70% dark chocolate. Before this elimination diet, I didn’t particularly like dark chocolate but your taste buds change.
In a few weeks I bring them back and see what happens. I think the idea is to see how much I personally can tolerate if any.
It was hard at first but if it makes me feel better, why not.
I found Sara Lee soft and smooth 100% whole wheat no HFCS
I was researching candy in the hopes of building a gingerbread house with my kids this year and found quite a few more candies to add to your list:
Lindt chocolate truffles
Reese’s Peanut butter cups
Andes Mints
sweet tarts
Guittard Chocolate “Assorted Mint Nonpareils” in pink, green, and yellow
Hershey’s Kisses
Kit Kat bars
Nestle Crunch bars
Jordan almonds
jawbreakers
chocolate coins
pixy sticks
sixlets
tic tac mints
altoids
Maple Valley organic maple candy
a lot of snapple products don’t have HFCS but some do so you would have to check… if you go to thier website they also list the ingredients to all thier products there.
Add xs energy drinks and most nutralite food. Also add hunts ketchup, they have it marked on the bottle that there is no hfcs. Thanks so much for the list!
I will be happy to pay more for a NON-HFCS product. Also, see warnings about Mercury poisoning in HFCS. I just checked all of my food items and found that 4 out of 5 cereals that I had have HFCS in them. They are killing us quicker than usual. “Population control” is in all of “their” minds.
Log Cabin syrup contains real sugar, although pricey and hard to find. Expect to pay around 4-5 dollars for a bottle, more if you shop at an upscale store. Very good to have though, you will notice a difference.
Check your stores for Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback (as of Sept ’10), you might still be able to find Dr Pepper 125th anniversary edition still, which is also real sugar. Quantities were very limited for it.
Hansen’s soda contains sugar, but they’re the same company that produces Monster energy drinks, which are a no-no and subject to boycott..Due to the fact that Monster files frivolous lawsuits against any company that dare mention the word ‘monster’ in their product. Do not support this company.
Jones Soda is really good, but Virgils root beer tastes horrible for some reason.
Mexican coke is good too, again hard to find. Some mexican cokes use HFCS, be sure to read your labels. The ones I find are bottled in tijuana. Mexican pepsi uses HFCS primarily, ive never found a mexican pepsi with real sugar.
A lot of ketchup companies are getting on the real sugar bandwagon too, not much of a price difference either.
I have a severe allergy to corn and all corn derivatives. Your lust contains many products that contain corn in other forms besides HFCS. Is this not a concern to all those with corn allergy? I would be in the ER if I followed your list. A caution to others. For example, Cheerios contain corn. That is only one of many on this list. If there is a difference in the two allergies, then I apologize, but better to err on the side of caution. As you stated, read the labels carefully. I shop with my iPhone and google anything not on my compiled list. You have to cross check lists and products in personal care products and home products, if you have a severe corn allergy. It encompasses everything you ingest, put on and in your body or are exposed to in your environment, like hair spray, contact solution, Q-tips, lotions, scented candles, etc. Emergency personnel need to be notified before starting an IV, too. Wear a medical alert bracelet or necklace. Please be your own best advocate.
From Sherry – Site Owner: Thanks for your note. This list is for people who wish to avoid high-fructose corn syrup, specifically. Not corn products in general.
@Lisa- Read the TITLE of the website. This is NOT a website for anyone with a corn allergy. It’s clearly stated that this is a “List of Products with No High-Fructose Corn Syrup”.
Did anyone else see the study they had on MSN about HFCS causing cancer cells to grow 5x the regular rate as opposed to “regular” sugar? One more thing about HFCS that needs to be put out there for the public to know.
I noticed that most of the Malt-o-meal cereals have no HFCS. I have had to start reading a lot of labels because I am also lactose intolerant.
Smart Balance Peanut Butter does not contain HFCS. It’s delicious and has Omega 3′s!
Hunt’s All Natural Ketchup is HFCS free.
Stacy’s Pita Chips and Bagel Chips contain no HFCS (some contain organic cane sugar).
Here’s their website. Click on Nutrition Info under each product to find the ingredients:
http://www.stacyssnacks.com/#/?page=products
Polaner All Fruit Preserves have no HFCS as per their website:
http://www.polanerallfruit.com/polaner/index.html
I notice that Kashi GOLEAN Crisp (new) is at least one Kashi cereal that does not contain HFCS.
In answer to a Chocolate syrup without HFCS….I use the Nestles Nesquick tall canaster of choc. powder. This tall canaster is the only one without the HFCS. Mix the powder with a very small amount of milk and it’s better than any Chocolate syrup you can buy. Again, careful, read labels, this tall canister is the only one I found without the HFCS in it!
Donna
thank you!! Very helpful.
Oops! I just re-read the bread list and saw that you guys already have this one listed…sorry for the repeat!
)
I sometimes bought Mrs Baird’s 100% Whole Wheat bread and was HORRIFIED to see that it had HFCS in it!! So, when I went back to the store, I started reading labels and found that Nature’s Own 100% Whole Wheat bread DOES NOT. Hooray! You can add this one to your list. Thanks for compiling this list. It is VERY helpful!
I read that the FDA has sided (at least temporairily ) with the corn industry and is allowing them to deliberately mislabel HFCS as just corn syrup. So now I won’t buy products with corn syrup either, better safe than sorry. Does anyone know if any company makes the glace or glazed red cherries used in fruitcakes? I can not find one with no HFCS.
This is truly outrageous. Where did you get this information?
Actually they want the name changed to Corn Sugar, that was in September 2010. If they agree to the change, it will be 12 -18 months before labels will changed. You can google the articles: hfcs to corn sugar.
I am looking for some sort of store bought cupcakes that do not have any corn products in them. does anyone know of any?
Thanks, Debbie
zena3546@aol.com
Thanks for posting this. all i read is what products do have it. I am glad to see a list of what doesnt have it. Thanks
I can’t eat Fructose corn syrup, because it gives me heartburn. Has anybody else have this problem?
I WROTE BREYERS AND HAGEN DAZ AND EDYS ABOUT INSERTING THIS HFCS CRAP IN THIER ICE CREAM SO THAT THEY CAN LAST LONGER ITS A DAM SHAME I WILL HAVE TO BUY MY OWN ICE CREAM MAKER.
I bought my ice cream maker relatively cheap on amazon and it was so worth it! Now I know what exactly is going into my ice cream and it works great. I got the Hamilton Beach ice cream maker and purchased the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and desert book for various recipes. If you purchase quality freezer containers it can last for quite some time.
Breyers all natural doesn’t have any corn product in it–it’s what we buy for my corn allergic son.
iTS GREAT I STUMBLED UPON THIS SITE I READ IT TO MY HEABOLOGIST SISTER WHO FOR MANY MANY YEARS WAS TELLING ME THAT THIS HIGH FRUCTOSE IS CAUSING DIABETES. CORN SYRUP HAS BEEN AROUND FOR WAY LONG MY MOM WHIOS IS 82 USW TO USE A TAD, BUT HIGH FRUCTOSE IS MASS PRODCTION OF THIS PRODUCT TAKING IT OUT OF THE NATURAL STATE. ITS LIKE SPLENDA PURE GARBAGE YEAH IT HELPS YOU EAT LESS SUGAR BUT WHAT ABOUT THE AFFECTS ON YOUR ORGANS? NITRATES ARE ANOTHER MASS PRODUCTION OF NATURAL SALT PLASE BE CAREFUL WITH THAT. EVEN SNAPPLE HAD TO GO BACK TO SUGAR THEY WERE TASTING TERRIBLE WITH THAT CRAP HFCS, ITS IMPORTANT TO READ YOUR PRODUCTS CAREFULLY WERE NOT GETTING BETTER WERE MAKING THE MEDICAL SOCIETY RICHER. REFRIGERATE YOUR FLOURS, SUGARS GRAINS SO THAT THEY CAN LAST LONGER AND WE WONT NEED MASS PRODUCED HFCS OR NITRATES IN CONSUMER PRODUCTS. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SO MANY CHILDREN WITH DIABETES? I AM A 60′S CHILD I NEVER SEEN THE DIABETIC COMMUNITY THIS LARGE ITS EVEN ON TV HOW YOU CAN TOUCH YOUR FINGER ITS A SHAME. “IF YOU STAND FOR NOTHING YOU FALL FOR EVERYTHING”.
Vlasic Sweet Gherkins
Unfortunately, Breyer’s Ice Cream can no longer to be on this list. Corn Syrup is the Fourth ingredient..
Ingredients: milk, skim milk, sugar, corn syrup, cream, maltodextrin, whey, cellulose gel, mono & diglycerides, guar gum, cellulose gum, natural flavor, carob bean gum, carrageenan. caramel swirl: sugar, water, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, non fat milk solids, butter, salt, molasses, pectin, soy lecithin, sodium citrate, natural flavor, lactic acid, potassium sorbate. waffle cone pieces: fudge coating (sugar, coconut oil, cocoa powder, nonfat milk powder, whole milk powder, anhydrous milkfat, soy lecithin, vanilla), waffle cones (unenriched wheat flour, sugar, corn starch, palm and/or soybean oil, bamboo fiber, soy lecithin, natural flavor, soy flour, salt), natural flavor.
Natural, my arse.
Also the Jarritos sodas made in Mexico have no HFCS. They are served in many Mexican Restaurants around Nashville and sold in many of the international markets.
Thanks for the great list. I wanted to add one onto the Peanut Butter List. Adam’s 100%Natural Peanut butter is delicious has two ingredients: Peanuts and Salt. Check it out. once I tried that brand of PB the others just don’t compare. Warning there is a Adam’s brand that is “NO STIR” and that has other additives. Thanks!
All of the Throwbacks are with pure cane sugar–Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and Mt. Dew.
Just another thank you!
