Always Check The Label Yourself! I always check before submitting something to the list, but sometimes companies change things, so be sure to always verify on the label itself. This list is meant to be a guide and not a bible. I hope it’s very helpful in finding products with no high-fructose corn syrup, but if you’re sensitive or have allergies especially, always always double-check the label yourself!
This is a list I have compiled (and am actively adding to) of products which do not contain HFCS. These are all products that now seems to contain HFCS more often than not – so I am posting when I come across a brand/variety that does not contain it (last I checked, anyway).
If you have some finds you’d like to share on this list, send me the info, and I will add it here.

This is great. My husband was just diagnosed yesterday with fructose malabsorption and has to avoid fructose and other such sugars. This list has eased his mind and mine. He thought he was going to be starving to death. It’s also great because now I can start decreasing my children’s sugars intake as well. Thank you for all the hard work and research that has been put into this site.
Ever heard of “jaggery”, look it up, it’s an east Indian unrefined sugar. It’s actually good for you. It’s 6% iron and also contains magnesium. Potassium ,etc. it can replace brown sugar. It has it’s own taste that doesnt go with everything but is great when making homemade sauces, on oatmeal, cinnamon spread, experiment. There’s lots of things jaggery compliments. My family can’t tell what it’s hidden in but are benefitting from it.
Anything that is foreign made does not contain high fructose corn syrup, the US is regulated to how much sugar it can import per year hence the use of alot of high fructose corn syrup.
True, look for imported jams and jellies, they don’t contan the nasyt stuff American producers like Smuckers use. I find imports at a lot of dollar stores and especially Big Lots. Jams from Poland are especially fresh tasting.
Most other countries have banned HFCS, Yellow #5, and other artificial sweeteners from being used in their countries because little to no independent research has been completed that would show these things aren’t harmful to the human body. If you want to know about the corruption involved in getting these things pushed through FDA approvals, just look here http://rense.com/general33/legal.htm
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE IBS AND HFCS ?
yes me, i just found out about 3 weeks ago and it is very hard to find stuff to eat when you have both ,,,
i am sorry i am Lactose and fructose
i am allergic TO ALL corn i am 16 had it all my life head aces, hives all over my body and ear infections when i was little …… i have decided that i am sick of all ways having a cold because my body cant fight it and head aces so i decided i am going to stop eating ALL CORN
I do, Patricia. Several years ago I had suddenly became very sick at the stomach after all of my meals. I was diagnosed with IBS and the medicine never helped. I realized after about a year of that horribleness that it was HFCS that was doing it. By that point I would just have a can of Coke and be in utter agony. I eliminated all HFCS and was better within a few days. The sickness never happened again. I went about two years with as close to no HFCS as I possibly could, and today I can tolerate some soda on occasion, say if we’re out with friends and I want something more than just water. It’s wonderful when you finally figure out that HFCS is your trigger.
I had ulcerative colitis from eating HFCS. Very painful… so I started eliminating that from my diet and got better.
Yes, IBS, watching HFCS intake and looking for a BBQ sauce to substitute the other brands which are full of HFCS. Also have alot allergies; i.e. Wheat, soy, shrimp, celery & egg yolks.
Wal-Mart’s version of Kraft Miracle Whip is fickle when it comes to this. There are two kinds; one is Whipped Salad Dressing, and the other is Whipped Dressing. WSD has hfcs and sugar, and contains about 1g of sugars per serving. On the other hand, WD has no hfcs, only sugar, and has a listing of less sugar then WSD in the NI. Just something to think about; we may find other fickle examples like that.
Some other juices are Landers
Nantucket
I find this very interesting.I’m very allergic to corn and Its very hard to find food with out corn or derivatives of corn .because they are hidden under different names about 50 of them or more .I have done extensive research & phone Company for strange names in our food to find out it’s corn .So I found I have to cook everything fresh & make it myself to be safe.
Many of the Wish Bone salad dressing do not have HFCS.
I eat their French, which is HFCS free.
I think Cheez-it’s might not HFCS. I couldn’t find any on the label, and it says “0″ under sugar. Anyone know if I’m missing something?
Under soda: there are coca coal products made is Mexico made with natural sugar.
I love Krogers Organic Ketchup and it is close to the same price as regular ketchup. $1.89. I also buy there organic mustard for around $1.40…Bad news about Bullseye BBQ sauce they recently added back Corn Syrup…Yuck!
I tried Stubbs BBQ got home and noticed Corn Syrup as the last ingredient…bOO
have you found a HFCS free bbq yet
I love this site! @Lisa I would also like to know what liver-friendly diet you’re on. Has anyone found candy that doesn’t contain HFCS? Thanks so much.
YummyEarth has gummy bears and lollipops
made with natural fruit juice. Meijer has them as does TJMaxx
Since I started avoiding HFCS because of my gout, I have noticed a lot less problems with my foot. I am now thinking that the HFCS was what was causing my flair-ups all along. Try Welch’s Natural Concord Grape spread. It tastes great, and has no HFCS.
I am a 60 year old woman who just recently started having major stomach problems with chronic diarrhea. After going to the doctor many times and testing, they came up with nothing. I started watching what I ate and found out that everytime I had something with HFCS or artificial sweeteners in it, I became very ill. I was literally confined to the house due to the chronic diarrhea. After researching HFCS and finding this website, I am eliminating any and all HFCS. It’s early yet, but can already see a huge difference in the way I feel. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
Sharon,
You might want to go to a GI Specialist and get breath test for the fructose malabsorption. This can verify your feelings that fructose and HFCS are causing you problems.
Good luck!
Sharon, I have to agree with you. I’ve been getting terrible stomach pains for the past few years. I thought it was just because I was drinking alot of soda while I was working. So I stopped. I started to feel better. BUT, it wasn’t long after that the pains would start again, so I started looking at labels. I am convinced it is the HFCS that is causeing my problems too. I am thankful for this list, and I’ve learned to read labels before I buy. This Thanksgiving I have spent in pain because I didn’t read labels. I found that cranberries and Cool Whip are made with HFCS. This should not be allowed in food. Let’s get back to the real food, not substitutes. Bodies are not made to digest this artifical garbage.
Cherie, I must agree with you that society as a whole should get back to real food not all these preservates/artifical stuff. I have recently found out that I am allergic to Corn. Prior,to finding out this information, I noticed that I would have problems with my feet pain and would begin to itch and sometimes would have bumps or hives after eating food with corn syrup or corn in it. Since this time I have learned to read lables and to my surprise there are many products that have that have corn syrup in it.
Thanks to all! This website has helped so much! I just recently found out I’m allergic to corn! One of the first websites that have helped me, because it’s been overwhelming so far to find foods to eat, (hard to change a diet you’ve been used to), but getting a little easier with help from websites like these.
To Lisa – would love your diet plan, as the others do.
Just discovered this site and your ideas for healthier eating.
This list is freaking awesome. Good work, I am writing a blog on HFCS right now for Foundhealth.com, will definitely link to this list!
We found Sobe drinks are HFCS free. Even better. their diet version uses Stevia and also tastes great.
Wickles relish tastes fantastic & is free of HFCS.
Also – be sure to read the labels on the breads – some of the regular breads are fine & some have the junk.
Log Cabin pancake syrup has no HFCS
Thanks for the list!
I have been on this diet for 2 weeks now and have lost 8lbs eating normal foods just not the ones with HFCS
state fair corn dogs you can eat but not the mini corn dogs
digorno pizza and red baron pizza you can eat
Eggo waffles you can eat
kit kat, reeses peanut butter cups and Hersey you can eat
sara lee whole grain white bread you can eat
there are good foods without HFCS you just have to read the lables
My husband is a big Pepsi lover and we were so glad when Pepsi Throwback became a mainstay at the store. Now I can get him a Pepsi for his lunch and not feel like I compromised on our avoidance of HFCS.
Possible new additions to list: I am pretty sure that Hunt’s ketchup and a few of their pasta sauces (not all) are HFCS free. They have “sugar”. We also picked up Planter’s Creamy Peanut Butter this week and it listed sugar – not HFCS.
Love the list and am glad to see it growing. If we continue to resist buying HFCS and get our friends and family on board maybe, just maybe, the companies will listen to us (if they want to continue making profits).
Pepsi throwback is still not like Mexican Coke or Dublin Dr Pepper. It’s beet sugar not cane sugar. Same with Mtn Dew throwback.
I knew it didn’t taste like it did back in the day, that must be why. I just added Dad’s Root Beer to the list, which uses cane sugar and is really good!
Being a huge Dr. Pepper fan since the ’60s I went on-line to find where I could buy Dublin Dr. Pepper only to learn that the plant closed in January 2012. Any suggestions? Are we Dr. Pepper lovers now left high(-fructose corn syrup) and dry?
Although Dublin Dr. Pepper no longer is allowed to make Dr.Pepper at their plant in Dublin, Tx, they still make several other sodas with cane sugar. Their XXX Root Beer is my favorite. Maybe if you contact Dr.Pepper they can tell you if any other plants still make Dr.Pepper.
Pepsi has taken throwback off the market.
Thanks for the list. I found a soda pop named Zevia that is actually made with Stevia. No HFCS.
I found it in Smiths grocery store. You can look at their web site for the store closest to you that
carries their products. Taste good. Have avoided cola drinks for years. Only drank the others occasionally. Now I’m trying to avoid all HFCS products. I need better eyesight to read the small
print.
There are also several budget stores which have their name brands without HFCS. For example, most of the Walmart, “Great Value” has real sugar.
You can find great ideas on this current site. We have a book which tells you exactly why it is bad for you.
“Gaining Weight?High fructose corn syrup and obesity” on Amazon.
Dr. Dee
I have recently found a new pickle relish with no high fructose corn syrup. It is easy to find because it is Del Monte brand. I was so happy to see that it said “real sugar” on the label.
I like chocolate surup also and was having a hard time finding one with no HFCS. I recently found the Fresh and easy brand but does anyone know a regular brand that they sell at chain stores?
Yes, good old Nesquik Chocolate Syrup. Made with real sugar.
TruMoo Chocolate Milk has no HFCS according to their FAQ: http://www.trumoo.com/trufaqs/
Greek Gods greek yogurt does not have HFCS in it.
Also Kikkoman Soy Sauce as well.
Is there a brand of soft drinks that don’t have HFCS in Ginger Ale.
This list is a great start-thank you!!
I sent an email to Whole Foods, questioning if their 365 brand juices contain HFCS. This is the response that I received this morning:
——————————————
Hello Jonathan,
Thanks for contacting Whole Foods Market. As of January 2011, high fructose corn syrup is not an acceptable ingredient to our quality standards and is not allowed in any products sold in our stores.
If you have any further questions please use our on-line response form.
Best regards,

Thanks for this list. I will keep an eye out for any others to add here. : )
Anyone know of any gelatin (jello) brands with no hfcs?
The regular ol’ Jello brand I have in my pantry has no HFCS. The kind in the box that you make yourself by adding water, that is.
Has anyone ever be able to get their kids school cafeteria to change their menu to eliminate HFCS?
Paul Newman all natural lemonade!! I have never found any of the Paul Newman products to have HFCS in them, don’t know if any of them do.
Smart Balance All Natural Rich Roast Peanut Butter No HFCS
V8 VFusion Vegetable & Fruit 100% Juice No HFCS I love the Peach Mango
La Fe Dough for Pastries (frozen) No HFCS I found this brand because I love making empanadas and the Goya Brand uses corn additives.
Certified Kosher for Passover Pepsi (Bottle must have White Cap) and Coke (Bottle must have yellow cap) No HFCS or any other corn additives ever due to religious practices. They use cane sugar only.
.
Del Monte canned sloppy Joe sauce – NO HFCS!
Just wanted to say that Log Cabin has a maple syrup with no HFCS.
Log Cabin does offer both *maple* syrup and just “syrup” (which most people are used to seeing). Their ‘Log Cabin Syrup’ is “maple flavored” – and they have stopped using high-fructose corn syrup in it. They also offer actual, true maple syrup – also with no HFCS.
Arnold Bread products have no HFCS, nor do their Sandwich Thins. I am not positive about their burger/dog buns, I think they might still have it, so please double-check before using. http://www.arnoldbread.com/
Also, Frito Lay products do not use artificial dyes/coloring. I try to use store brand for savings, but these are two name brands I opt for because I prefer quality. (Hunt’s ketchup, too!) Thanks for the great site!
Hunt’s 100 % Natural tomato ketchup = no HFCS
Just found your list! THANK YOU!
I started this diet last September because my liver was shutting down, dumping enzymes and totally messed up my digestive tract. I’ve reversed all my lab work now and dropped 40 pounds.
Keep up the good work!
Hi Lisa……would you mind sharing with me the no fructose diet you use. If you could give me what you eat in a typical day, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks……
How is this diet working and where can i find it ?? HELP !!! Lola
Could you please email me your eating plan? I’m in desperate need of a diet without HFCS. Thank you
Also, Simply Heinz Ketchup contains no HFCS.
Hi Lisa,
Do you think you can share your diet secret I would appreciate it? I would love to try it out because everything that I am doing isn’t working.
Hello! Lisa,
Will you please share your eating plan with me too, because I am having major health problems. The doctor said I need to loose 40 lbs to hopefull get everything back under control. Thank you so much!
Hi Lisa,
I would love to know the eating plan you are using. HFCS is slowly killing me, or so I’m convinced. Thanks for sharing.
Jeannie
Did Lisa share her plan with you? I see allot people asking and just wondering if she was sharing.
Hey Lisa,
my son was diagnosed to a corn and milk allergy and I am having the
Hardest time finding decent food for him to eat cuz he is 12 and used
To eating everything. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me out.
My email address is kbeesonak@yahoo.com if you could help me. Thank you
Lisa, If you have an eating plan, can you please share it with me? I am wondering if my inability to lose weight/gaining weight continually has something to do with eating foods with HFCS. I do go for packaged cakes, cookies…anything on the sweeter side. Thank you, jan
Hi Lisa…please share your diet….did you just cut out all HFCS? Have tried everything..to lose weight.. so ive deceided to Soviet HFCS foods….
thank you..
GOD BLESS YOU!
Hi Lisa……a co-worker of mine has turned me on to eating no HFCS…………I am a Weight Watcher 3x’s member, find that I lose the weight to only regain it back within months. I also suffer from Hypo Thyroid, which elevates my weight!…………….If you have some type of diet plan you follow, would you mind sharing it with me or a list of foods you eat to give me some idea of what’s it like in the life of Lisa with no HFCS!
Thank You,
Sue
Another results-impressive dietary change (that requires MORE label reading–sorry!) is eliminating all polyunsaturated vegetable oils from your diet and replacing it with coconut oil for cooking and baking.
The broad spectrum of refined vegetable oils (in layman’s terms) suppresses thyroid function, resulting in decreased metabolism. The unique high lauric acid content of coconut oil is a medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA) which gets broken down differently in our bodies, and is used predominately for energy production.
I recently read the account of farmers who started giving their pigs coconut products, thinking the extra fat in their diet would help them put on more weight for market. What they discovered was the pigs LOST weight because their metabolic rate increased. When the farmers switched their diet, the pigs quickly bulked up from the high polyunsaturated oil content in corn and soybean products, and they could even feed them less actual food and get the same results.
The only negative factor I can see in using coconut oil is this is obviously not buying local. But that’s the case every time I buy bananas, too.
Michael Pollan hits the nail on the head: Food Rule #1 – Eat Food. (real food!) Rule #2 – Don’t eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food. That pretty much covers it!
Tostitos Creamy Spinach Dip no HFCS
DeBoles Rice Spaghetti Style Pasta no HFCS (also Gluten free)
Barilla Whole Grain Rotini Pasta no HFCS
Old London Wheat Melba Toast no HFCS
Polaner AllFruit with Fiber has no HFCS(also gluten free)
Rotel Mild Diced Tomates & Green Chilies has no HFCS
Dannon Light and Fit Vanilla Yogurt has aspartane in it. I just threw my container out. Looking to remove HFCS and all artificial sweeteners from my body. Really appreciate this list and will help to add to it as I come across items.
Thanks, Mona. Absolutely right! Many of the items on this LIST contain ASPARTAME, which is a huge concern for its neurotoxic properties! Yogurts are one of the biggest categories of products that contain the pharmaceutical-type sweetener, Aspartame/Neotame/Equal. Visit our BLOG for more info. re: Aspartame and HFCS. Respectfully — Mary Nash Stoddard/author Deadly Deception Story of Aspartame (Odenwald Press 1998)
Smucker’s makes an awesome peanut butter with just peanuts and salt. Since they make such a good peanut butter I was surprised when I bought their preserves once (the price was good) and could taste the high fructose corn syrup.
Also alot of supermarkets now carry the specialty ‘sprouted’ breads which are delicious/made by ‘Alvarado Street’ (that is the name)
I have to admit that I like some ‘Cool Whip’ as a dieting aid..but my son scoffs at it and calls it ‘corn syrup whip’! LOL!
Great list, thank you….. in the past I would keep 7-up in the cupboard for an upset stomach. But when they changed it and started HFCS, I can’t stomach it. It’s been years since I’ve had any soft drinks. I will look at the label on the hansen’s. I do most of my shopping at Trader Joes, read the labels carefully and I grow my own fruits and veggies.
Hanson’s (which I just found today YEA)
triple filtered carbonated water, pure cane sugar, citric acid, natural flavors including the extracts of yucatan manderin and colima limes (for the one that I bought)
Pepsi now has a Pepsi Throwback that is made with sugar. 7- Up has 7-UP Retro that is made with sugar. Both do not have high-fructose corn syrup.
7-UP now makes a “7-Up Retro” that is sweetened with only sugar – no HCS.
hi, thanks for the list. i have an allergy to corn, corn syrup, hfcs , corn oil and other stuff w/ corn. But i have to watch out for some items cause i also have an allergy to oats.
Hi Sherry ,
I love this list you very actively made. But even those products have something terrible in them which will make you gain weight. You need to realize that unless you make food that has ingredients that are not packaged, you are going to be gaining weight or losing your life in one way or another. You need to live once in a while, because restricting yourself this much is insane. Please stop dieting and start living!
Hi, Marie; I completely agree with you. After years of building this list, reading labels, watching corporations go through extreme gyrations to veil and obscure what is really going into a product, I’ve come to the conclusion that nearly all of them just don’t care. I’m very much on a quest to make my own products – everything I can – not just food. And it’s why I’m launching ‘Craving Quality’ – http://cravingquality.com – It’s bare bones for now and only 1 post there. But it’s going to be my newest big project, having grown and evolved from starting/keeping this list. -Sherry
How is this list “insane” or “restricting yourself”? What is so insane or restrictive about choosing the ketchup that doesn’t have corn syrup in it instead of the one that does? Takes the same amount of time at the market and you are eating the same calories.
I think it’s people like you to need to “live”
Marie- food avoidance can be due to allergies and not fad dieting. sometimes when you assume… relax and don’t judge
I agree Amy. I have a son who is terribly allergic to corn products especially high corn syrup. I spend a lot of time reading labels to chose products that are HFCS free. What I find most upsetting is when companies hide HFCS under different names such as: dextrose, maltodextrin, and crystalline fructose. I find this list very helpful.
And don’t forget corn syrup solids, corn syrup, and corn sugar. All the same. Be sure it says sugar. As of now the FDA only allows that name for sucrose, the real old fashioned table sugar that we all ate before we got fat and sick. Dr. Dee
Not sure if you are familiar with Wildtree…but our entire product line is HFCS free! We offer a full line of culinary spice blends, sauces, soups, stews, slow cooker meals, breads, deserts and more! Plus a wonderful line of infused grapeseed oils! All free of HFCS. Hello,
What about Hansen sodas and they do not have HFCS in them anymore and the 365 brand from Whole Foods. However I notices that the Hansen soda changed from HFCS to pure sugar but then, after a while they change the can. It does say made with pure cane sugar but it more sweeter tasting then 365 Whole foods brand.
How can someone lose weight on Special K breakfast and that the first ingredient of the cereal. What a world and all the external factors that we have to take on plus our own plate.
Producers of gourmet marshmallows called Pillowmellows® no HFCS, natural flavors, natural colors, halal and kosher certified. Many candies w/o HFCS. Largest producer of kosher/halal “marshmallows” in the world.
I’ve been trying to find a hfcs free sweet pickle relish. I always read labels and look for things like hfcs and other artificial sweeteners, along with other not so good for you ingredients. I love this list and will be referring to it when needing something specific. Thank you and keep up the good job!
Trader Joe’s has a very nice pickle relish and no HFCS and No artificial sweeteners. Enjoy and it pretty good relish or you can make your own.
Other non HFC foods:
Faye Greek Yogurt – 2% or 0%
Jello homemade gelatin packs
Ezekiel breads/English muffins
Tandoori Roti/Naan breads
Jambo forzen yougurt bars
Polaner All-fruit spreads
In the frozen foods category, the Kellogg’s Eggo Waffles Nutri-Grain Blueberry don’t contain HFCS. I know they are not the healthiest option, but practical when you are in a hurry. I am also trying to eliminate high fructose corn syrup from the family diet, but it is really hard to find stuff without it. Thank you for the list!
I’m very impressed with your site. Now we need to have one if there isn’t one already for no trans fat, even when it states 0 trans fat look at the ingredients when it says partially or fully hyrogenated oil it does in fact have transfat. they are also coming out with a new kind of trans fat that is even worse than the other & it doesn’t have to be govt. regulated yet. I was shocked this transfat is even in some dried seasonings! It seems to be in almost everything. This is not a natural fat process, it is man made to save money and for preserving. Beware!
