Today I was listing to an interview with Greg Atkinson. He said he has a great recipe for something called a “Faux-reo” – an alternative to store-bought Oreos. In the interview, he said that for some reason, you can eat a bunch of Oreos and for some reason just not feel satisfied. But if you eat just a couple of Faux-reos, it’s very satisfying, and you don’t need to keep eating (I’m paraphrasing, but that is basically what he said).
I found that interesting, because one of the things I’ve heard about HFCS is that it inhibits satiety (the body’s ability to feel full once it’s had enough to eat). So I came home and looked it up – sure enough, Oreos contain high-fructose corn syrup. Faux-reos do not!
So without further ado, here is the recipe for Faux-reos by Greg Atkinson: Fauxreos
